Location Permission Letter

This is a copy of the email that was sent to Daryl's dad asking permission of film in his bar we are still awaiting a reply...

And above is the copy of when it was comfermed

Advert Design

Similar to our CD cover design is our poster design also adopting a similar colour scheme to again reflect the genre of music, the band image and style and also the lyrics.

Also similar to the CD cover are our image for the Advert for the proper one we are going to first plan then take a picture of the whole band in a genrelistic pose.

CD cover design

Below are our groups CD cover design which we thought about hard and we tryed to come up with something that would reflect our chosen genre of music and also link to the lyrics as well.

For the real one what we planed to with the images we planned to take pictures which we have put together and with the pictures of the band we would probably take them whilst they were performing.

Talent Release Form

This is a copy of our Talent release form that we needed to get people to sign, if they want to be in our music video. This Protects us from breaching terms of Copy right and from people's concerns about putting there image on the internet.

Track Permission letter

Our group went to the record label website and sent them a message from there and gave our email and a number so they could contact us back, this is a print screen of our finished message.

Photo Shoot Plan

Below is our photo shoot plan that we made to know when we where going to take the photos for the album cover. We agreed these times because that's when we are all free and we would have the time to get it done as well. Concept

This is our video that we made specifically for this post, we thought that we should do it this way not only to make it visual but also to show and say exactly what we meen rather than hopelessly trying to put it into words. Because what we meen might not come across as well as if we explain it and also it looks boreing if we just put a spider diagram on a post but in the video you can see our spider diagram on the white board ans we're eplaining what we are joting down and why we thought of it.

Peer assessment feedback (Planning).

Below is my second peer assessment feedback sheet this time on my Planning section of my blog and it's still a work in progress kind of deal.

Drew has kindly given me feedback about my Planning section which I have taken on board and am in the process of acting upon it. He's stated that I have a large number of posts missing which is partly my fault and partly not. And he's also said that some post's for instance post 6 the Image Annotation could be improved.

Storyboarding

This is my group in the process of composing our Animated Storyboarding which I started working on in the leson this also helped us deligate who's doing which role within the group.

And below are pictures of the final copy which we are in the process of making into an animated film on final cut -

Above is a short section of film of me annotating into our story boards what is happening in each shot and why we chose to have this at this point in the video so was it because of lyrics or because of the music ect...

And finally a copy of the finished product this is our Animated Storyboard of A Single Moment of Sincerity.

image annotation

Based on the genre (rock) we would like the artist in the video to look very stereotypical of a rock band and this will mean following conventions of an artist. This will include:

  • Black t-shirts with gothic graphics on it
  • Skinny jeans, various colours
  • Straightened hair, rough/jagged
  • Vans (Canvas shoes)
  • Tape (accessory)
  • Anti-Christ like jewellery
  • Make-up, foundation, eyeliner, painted finger nails
  • Tattoo's
  • Dark hoodies
  • Wooly hats/Tight baseball caps
  • Piercings eg. Nose, ears, lips, eyebrows
This is what my group and I will encorporate in order to achieve the most realistic music video we can. Also, this will build up the relationship between the viewers and the artist as they will know the song is based on thier genre just from seeing how they dress.

Teacher Feedback Sheet

These are photos of my Teacher Assessment: -

This was my teacher assessment from MCU regarding my Research and Planning posts. I agree with the feedback which has been given and the level achieved and have taken the comments on board and have made adjustments accordingly.

Lyric annotation

This is a copy of our songs lyics which have been annotated by Freddie. He's noted what he thinks the artist is trying to say, sort of the meaning behind the meaning if you will and his overall opinion of the lyrics and what he percieves them to be.

And on some of them he's even noted his ideas about how we could perform/ show the lyrics meanings to the viewer like for instance he's said for the line "Your silence is so haunting, Your words relentless burying in, My heart betrays me for a last first kiss goodbye,Fall asleep and jar one eye". He suggested filming a shot of someone being punched on a bed and then leaving them so they look like their dead".

Song choice: A single Moment of Sincerity by Asking Alexandria

We chose this particular song because it ticked a lot of our boxes in terms that it doesn't have a video, it's a good representation of our chosen genre both lyrics wise and the band and how they perform and most of us are fans of the genre and learnt the lyrics and song quickly.

And below are a copy of the lyrics: -

False tales lies of a washed up prom queen
Why’d you tell me everything was fine?
Everything was okay?

Get on your knees
Oh, why you tore me up?
No, why everything’s dead inside
Oh, you could’ve told me, at least I would’ve known
No, you should’ve told me and carved it in my bones

Tear out my eyes to remove the gift of sight
Proves ever cursing still,
the light can’t find us here
Painted red my eyes are burning
And still you hide behind the waves

Your silence is so haunting
Your words relentless, burying in
My heart betrays me for a last first kiss goodbye
Fall asleep,
jar one eye x2

Spilling every lie you’ve spilled before
But I’m not forgiving you
What happened between us,
what can I give to save us
Being righteous isn’t quite enough
What happened between us,
what can I give to save me

These oceans are far between our hearts (these oceans are)
The breathing has got too hard
x2

Scream with the voice of an angel
Lie in the name of the gospel
Smile in the face of your victims,
smile for me
This is my last request to you
Hold my breath
I was clutching on to disaster
Hold my breath

Tutorials

This is a screeshot of us in the process of editing the photos on photoshop but before we did anything to them.

This is my preparation for my photoshop tutorial where we took pictures in order to edit them on photoshop: -

These our our Jpeg images which our group made in class: -

We looked at the conventions of our genre and we decided on an overall black theme which we achieved through dimming and faiding the colour and adding in a black background to bring through the mood whcih we are trying to express in the photos. We also thought about clothing as well seens that not many bands use colour in our chosen genre and if they so it's usually the whole band not just one person.

And this is a technical tutorial of final cut: -

Initial Ideas

These are my initial ideas come up with last lesson in my discussion with my partner Daryl last lesson.

This basically sums up everything I could think of about our genre and what we had to do in orde to make a good video within our chosen genre and all the questions I had to face and the decisions and ideas I had based around what I was presented with.

Peer assessment feedback.

My peer assessment was carried out by Drew which was done in class. The feedback I received was very well observed, precise and truthful. I have taken what he has said on board and based on that I am improving my blogg in order to achieve my best.

He's mentioned that a lot of my blogs aren't complete yet and perhaps this is because I am spending too much time on one particular aspect or blog entry so if I am to do this I need to not take too long on the perfections and to just do what is required and go back and do the rest later.

He's also said that I need to watch my punctuation and grammar in some of my posts and perhaps a way to go about this is to write what I'd like to comment into a word document first and then edit and publish the post.

Assessment 23/9/11 MCU

WWW

- Some attempt at the majority of posts.
- Some good presentation, the first music video analysis in poat 14.
- Some use of visual material.

EBI

- there are far too many unfinished posts here Luke. You have not been improving them or making sure that you complete them to the right standard as you go along. You have created an enormous lot of work for yourself.
- All posts except no 2 need improvement or need to be completed.
- You need to analyse in much more detail, think about cinematography, sound, editing, mise en scene and analyse under the 4 headings for each video.
- There are some posts that show information clearly coipied and pasted from the internet. This is plagiarism. You must improve this or we cannot enter your work and you will face serious sanctions within the school. Posts 15 and 17 show this.
- You must include more visual material.
- You must complete posts 19 and 20, the mark scheme requires audience research.

Audience Research 1

Below is a copy of my questionnaire which I have sent to all year 13's to recieve there feedback about my groups chosen genres of music and to gain ideas and inspiration for our own music video task.

And below it the feedback that I was able to find out for example I have chosen 6 responses three male and three female that stood out particularly for me.

And what I found was that of those asked 4/6 people brought the music they listened to on CD as shown in this screenshot: -

Also half of the people asked thought there was no difference between the two genres as shown in the feed analysis: -

I also what made these responses so interesting was the diversity of their age ranges and what kind of music they are into as shown in these two charts: -
